Love is Knocking

To the girl who has had her heart broken to pieces, to the wife who’s husband let her down, to the single girl who is struggling with loneliness, to the woman who longs to be noticed and loved…

You are not forgotten, invisible, or unworthy. He who formed you in the womb knows you, remembers you, and sees you.

Each of us have women in our life who have been let down, betrayed, or taken advantaged of. Each of us have women in our life who we know deserve more.

Perhaps you have been that girl who was drawn by a man’s charismatic personality or attractive figure. Perhaps you hoped that the ending of the story would lead to a happy ending, love, and faithfulness.

I write these words with tears because perhaps you also have a loved one who is being let down, betrayed, or taken advantaged of. Perhaps your loved one is walking in defeat and a crushed spirit, when you know that God can rewrite their story.

I am thankful for those women in my life who brought to attention my blind spots in relationships, and for those women who covered me in prayer until I gave God His way to lead me to a love story worthy of His desire.

Many believe there are not good men out there, that their time is out, or have chosen to settle because they are tired of waiting for Mr. Right.

The hardest lesson I had to live out is that no man can complete me or make me whole. When I wanted to give myself to men, God showed me that only He is worthy of all my affection, attention, and adoration.

Looking for love is what our culture idolizes, when in fact Love has been knocking on our hearts the entire time.

God has not left or forgotten you. He has been watching, waiting, and turning every detail of your life around til it causes you to see Him, hear Him, and know Him.

Man will let you down. But God never will.

To the girl feeling left out, second picked, or not good enough… I was you. And then…

“I found the One whom my soul loves…” (Song of Solomon 3:4)

You hear Him. Let Him in.

“My Beloved is knocking… ‘Open to me, My sister, My love, My dove, My perfect one.’” (Song of Solomon 5:2)

Open your heart to Jesus. Let Him show you the depths of His love. Let Him wash you, cleanse you, heal you, and restore you. Let Him dress you with beauty, speak tenderly to you, and lay His affection on you. No one else will ever do.

“I am my Beloved’s and my Beloved is mine.” (Song of Solomon 6:3)

Dear Heavenly Father,

You made me. You know me. You see me. Forgive me for trying to fill my need for love and purpose in other things. Protect me and my purity because You are worthy. Show me the depths of Your love. Rewrite my story.

In JesusName,

Amen.
